Penguin having lunch at Sevens in Breckenridge

If you ever go visit Breckenridge, there is a great restaurant up on peak 7 that just opened a month or so ago. It’s called Sevens and has a great selection of yumminess for the ski tripping vacationer. I stopped by for lunch about a week after they opened, and it was delightful. I rode the Gondola up to peak 7 and then waddled on over for a philly cheese steak and a big glass of something I don’t remember.. maybe iced tea.

Sevens in Breckenridge Colorado

That says Sevens, Breckenridge, Colorado – Elevation 10,010 feet. Get a tissue, you might get a nosebleed just thinking about it!

The whole presentation was a little confusing to me. The restaurant is located right at the base of peak 7 as part of the new Grand Lodge resort, a very classic place to hang out – so the restaurant was pretty classy. Me in my winter feathers felt under dressed – yet there’s a bar to hang out at and the menu is full of sandwiches and burgers and french fries besides the fancier dishes… pretty casual. So I guess that’s classy casual, perfect for lunch after a morning on the slopes.

a big juicey cheeseburger with some weird veggie stick

The food was fabulous – definitely cooked to order and not just slapped together. Worth the wait. I’m not sure what was up with those veggie-ish skewers though. Kind of like a condiment totem pole… very odd. (Really I think its because they wanted to add some color but the fries took up all the garish living space.)

I wish, however the portions weren’t so enormous. I mean, really, I’m a hungry bird most days.. but this was huge!

The food was tasty, the view was amazing… Sevens – big n tasty – worth a stop by!

Hi Folks,

Glad you enjoyed the meal, I'm the chef at Seven's, so it's nice to hear. You are right about the relish skewer, it's there to add some color to the dish.

You should really try the pizza's when you're up there next, we make our own dough and sauce, plus our stonehearth oven does an incredible job of baking them.

Big seller this year has been our noodle bowls. Fresh veggies and protiens with a variety of sauce combinations. Probably my personal favorite.

Look forward to us being open for lunch and dinner during the summer months. There will be a new menu with some of our winter items plus many new summer items. Cedar Plank Trout with Grilled Pineapple Salsa and New York Strip Steak with Chimichur Sauce are a couple of the items. There will be a Chicken Salad sandwich with my own Dried Cherry, Walnut and Dill Chicken Salad. There will be a new Prime Rib Dip with Cabernet Au Jus along with a traditional Reuben Sandwich and for the veggie lovers, a Marinated Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwich with roasted red bell peppers and provolone. We will have Chilled Cucumber and Creme Fraiche Soup along with other Soups Du Jour. We will still have our Tuna Pokie appetizer along with a new Cheese and Fruit Plate that will have imported and domestic cheeses and seasonal fruits.

Come by and see us!
