This penguin does fly

November 12th, 2008

You’ve seen me at the airport before, but I’ve never shared a real airplane photo.. so, here ya go. This is what it looks like some hundred, thousand or trillian feet from the ground. I have to say the clouds are lovely and all, but really I’d much rather waddle with my two feet on the ground and get a nice close up look and the peoples below.

I think this is somewhere above the midwest - poopoo on the geo-tracking-locating biz, I like the vagueness of it all. (in case you’re curious, I fly Southwest) i’m fond of the heart logo. :D

Penguin goes to Chinatown, Boston

November 10th, 2008

A took a nice little walk through Chinatown in Boston, not one of the bigger displays of Chinese culture, but adventurous none-the-less.

I was almost eaten by a crazed lion…

I made friends with seagulls, one of whom graciously volunteered to pose in this photo with me…

did you know seasgulls lived in Chinatown? They like the wontons.

I’, obviously showing these photos backwards… or maybe I was waddling backwards as we’re back to welcoming you to Chinatown instead of bidding you farewell.

I always wonder when I post these images, if I’m ignorantly posing by some funny sign and I’m the butt of the joke. Who knows what it says, and there I am proudly desplaying my allness as though I’m fluent - as far as I know it could say - we eat penguins, yay us!

Penguin and the Cow Ladies

November 7th, 2008

Back in September, while I was toodling along the trail in Seattle, I ran across the Cow ladies. Yes, I said cow… ladies. I don’t know their names, but I can say they are some of the most inspiring women I’ve never met! While we walked our 60 mile breast cancer walk, these women would drive around cheering on the crew. They drove all day every day, and now matter how far back in the pack we ended up, these ladies could still be spotted.

It really helped boost morale when the feet were swollen and the back ached… the cow mobile would drive by honking and yelling and carrying on like it was someone’s 21st birthday.

I love these ladies!

I was so glad to have spotted them at the end of the end - they made the journey even that much more sparkly and down right dandy.

Thanks ladies!

Penguin and Jack Swigert, Jr.

October 26th, 2008

This is Jack Swigert, born in Colorado, a United States astronaut and one of 3 men that was aboard Apollo13 in 1970. Look how big he is, he’s got to be somewhere around 12 ft tall… they must grow ‘em big in Colorado!

I ran into this amazing man at the Denver airport… fancy meeting him there eah?

If you’d like to learn more, read up on Jack Swigert at the Johnson Space Center website

Penguins at Pacific Beach

October 22nd, 2008

This is me wishing for sun and surf. I took a quick walk just for this photo at Pacific beach in California. I was on my way home, so didn’t get a chance to stop and play in the sand… that just means I need to go back and visit again :D

Penguin and a new pal

October 21st, 2008

This is my newest pal, Karen Garcia. We originally met this past August at an event in Boston, she was also one of the pink ribbon supporters that helped sell buttons at our table. Then we walked together in September in the Seattle 3 day breast cancer walk. Most recently, and the location of this photo, we spent a weekend together for a special event hosted by Share a Sale, an online marketing network.

Karen owns GTO Management, an affiliate marketing management firm. She also runs a delicious foodie blog where you’ll find tons of yumminesses for your tumminesses. (I might even share a scruptious thought or two.. watch for it).

There really aren’t penguins at Boondocks

October 20th, 2008

Boondocks is a local family fun center that I visited recently. They have a ton of games and fun for just about every age (assuming you’re over 3 and at least 36″ tall). They have go karts, mini racers, bumper boats, video games, a batting cage, and my favorite.. miniture golf.

This particular Boondocks is located in Northglenn, Colorado.

Penguins and Pizza Pi

October 19th, 2008

I spent the day yesterday in the midst of the fabulous fun chaos of 13 year olds. One of my best friends turned 13 this weekend and his party with all his pals was yesterday. In addition to the fun frolicking, the video games and the scarfing of junk food, one of the party guests made this goofy pi, out of pizza crust. He was so excited about his creativity, I had to stop and take a photo with it.

The famous pizza pi of 2008.

Penguin at the Affiliate Dinner

October 14th, 2008

Finally, and event I’m not over dressed for. The Affiliate Dinner is an indistry specific evening.. enjoying yummy food and great company. There’s usually a roast of some big wig in the industry, which I’ve never understood the roasting part. usually people are so inspired and appreciative of the person they’re supposed to roast, its hard to do any roasting. But it’s all fun none the less.

It’s a great time, I’m always glad when I get a chance to sit and eat with friends. I might be at another one of their events in Las Vegas, January 2009. Maybe I’ll see you there. :D

Penguin loves the Boise Zoo

October 13th, 2008

I was able to spend a little time at the Boise zoo a while back. For such a small zoo, there were certainly tons of penguin friends, I had a great time!

There’s a fun little display of penguin cut-out style statues that kids like to run around.

Then there is a little exhibit with lots of penguins swimming around and hanging out and hiding in little caves.

I was able to sit and watch for a while… Yay for my Boise pals! If you get a chance to visit, its a quick trip but it sure is fun!
