Penguin is where today?
What part of the country am I in, can you tell, can you guess, do you have any idea?

Go ahead, I give you three guesses.

Have you ever had the opportunity to sit with an oracle? It’s magnificently fun (even if this one is fake). This man, er, statue guy, was standing bone still except for an occasional eye movement. You drop a dollar in his magic column and he elegantly moves to hand you a message “from the oracle”. I just wanted a picture. I waddled up, asked if he would mind getting a photo with me… without a word his eeballs twitched over dramatically at his fancy column. Go figure. I obviously scrounged up the cash.
Thats all body paint and fabric, cool huh?
I believe it was the bronzed breathing replica of Paul Revere just to the left of the Oracle… I didn’t get another photo though - I really wanted to save my money for lunch.
This was in Boston, at the street market, a very fun place!

I recently returned from a fabulous trip to Boston. I was attending a conference with the camera girl, so I was able to meet another great list of wonderful people. I also spent some time waddling around town - what a wonderful city Boston is!
This is me getting ready to ride my first water taxi heading towards the Seaport convention center…. with a view of downtown behind me. Yes, I said water taxi. For those of you that are landlocked like I am, this was an exciting and fun concept. I could ride a water taxi all day!
I saw a lot of amazing things around the city… many of which we forgot to take photos of. But leave it to the camera girl to catch a shot of the quirky…
yes, that’s me sitting in the middle. You’d think she never saw a sewer before. She says its the brick sidewalks and cobble stone… the history under your feet.. that’s what this photo is all about. I personally think she just likes giggling about poop.
We continued on our sight seeing adventure, following a map which we kept turning upside down or backwards, which ended up being a different part of town all together. But the exploring was fun anyway.
We followed a little bit of the freedom trail throughout parts of the city. Made it to see Paul Revere’s grave, the New England Aquarium, Chinatown and the downtown marketplace (more photos later).

we were running out of time before we had to meet friends for dinner, so we didn’t make it to the park and garden areas, but we did walk by Boston Common.
I’d love to go back and spend more time in this city. The combination of contemporary and historical are wonderfully mixed. I barely got a sampling of the food… oh me oh my!

Two friends of mine, Nana and Mackenzie, took me to Rome earlier this summer. (OH yes! the camera girl was so sad to be stuck back in the states for this journey).

Me and Nana at the Trevi Fountain

me and mackenzie at the panthenon
We went on a sight seeing bus, a fast train to Venice and even a grand Canal boat trip! Wow the sights we saw! Here are just a handful of the magnificent places we saw…

Ever get the feeling you’re being watched? Ever wonder what it would be like to be a dog and do that funky butt sniffing routine?
Well, this is me and the big buffalo… I’d like to think he’s just sniffing my head feathers…
This is actually a really cool statue. It’s called the hand of Man and is found near Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake, just outside of Ogden, Utah.
The signs reads:
A symbolic representation of all the lives of humans, dependant upon and supported by the buffalo over the ages, which almost caused its extinction. The turquois hand prints over the heart and forehead symbolizes man’s intervention in saving the buffalo. Turquois green is an Egyptian and universal color associated with life and rebirth.

Have you ever been to Wyoming? On my most recent road trip, I was able to whiz through the entire state in - um - I don’t know, 6 hours. Yes, it was a long drive through some pretty desolate scenery…
but the beginning was exciting. I wanted to stop and take a picture by the state sign, but the road was being re-constructed… this is my flying by
Yeeehaw!

Oh of my favorite places to visit is Seattle, Washington. The camera girl has family there so any time is a good time to go visit. There are so many fabulous things to see, places to go and people to watch. It’s a fantastic city!
This time around we didn’t stay long… but we did make a stop at the space needle.
The view from the top is absolutely amazing… especially if you make it during a clear sky kind of day.

Have you ever walked with butterflies fluttering all around you? Penguins don’t usually get such a neat opportunity. I mean, really, how often do you hear of butterflies in the arctic?
Well I am a lucky duck, er, bird. I went to the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado. It’s amazing. There were butterflies everywhere! I even got to watch a keeper release a few new fluttering friends into the habitat.
Here are a few photos we took while we were there. Well, the camera girl took them… but i directed and pointed out the pretty ones.
This butterfly I could have taken a ride on, it was so big!

This butterfly its a little snitty. It just sat there all day sticking its tongue out at us the whole time.
This butterfly was enjoying the sun.
I love the colors on this one… I’ve never seen a butterfly with such soft pastel colors.
Once again, I had a fantastic time with a brand new experience.

This is me at the Welcome to West Virginia sign. I love it out here, the eastern united states is so lush and green and just plain beautiful.
I wasn’t able to stay in West Virginia, however. So, I didn’t get the opportunity to check out what is so wild.. I already know the wonderful (read above).

Have you ever been, have you ever enjoyed a steak and a shake at the same time?
If you live anywhere near St. Louis, you probably have. It’s a fast food (actually called “causal dining”) change of restaurants with super yummy burgers and extraordinarily delicious shakes.
One thing I had to get used to was the size of the burgers. Where I come from, burgers are thick. Big and juicy and oh so scruptious thick. These burgers, however, are super thin.. but don’t let that fool you! Oh no, they are packed with flavor!
This is my next to my sourdought bread yumminess and my half chocolate half strawberry delightfully yummy shake!
Don’t forget the onion rings
