1. There are 17 kinds of penguins: Emperor, King, Adelie, Chinstrap, Gentoo, Magellanic, Humboldt, African Penguin, Galapagos, Macaroni, Rockhopper, Royal, Erect-Crested, Fiordland, Snares Island, Yellow-Eyed and Little Blue or Fairy.
2. Each penguin call is different, allowing for easy recognition between mates and chicks
3. The Emperor penguin can dive as deep as 700 feet underwater and hold its breath for up to 18 minutes

Happy World Penguin Day

I hope you had a wonderful Easter! Yesterday I went with my little friends to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. I have never seen to many eggs all in one place. We met up at the local park and in the area that is usually used for soccer, there were bunches of roped off egg hunting spots for different age groups. This is me at the hunting spot for the 1-2 year olds – one of the safest places to hang out. These cute little kids don’t know how to fight over the candy yet.

Then last night I had fun coloring eggs. I wanted to take a little swim but was told I would end up permanently blue… that didn’t sound like much fun.

I would have taken the picture with some eggs… but it was hard enough to get everyone to take their paws off the colors – I didn’t want to get thrown off the table for being too pushy.

Today, Easter Sunday, we made a yummy brunch with more family. We also found more colored plastic eggs all over the house – filled with loads of chocolate and fun little treasures. I found 3 penguin friends…

Next year I think you’ll be able to get these cute little penguin holders for yourself. I’ll bug the camera girl to get on that for ya.

Penguin is a winner

I had a great Easter weekend! Saturday I helped my little friends make Easter treats for friends and neighbors.

Jellybeans are awesome!

Saturday night I hung out while the kids colored eggs. Then I waited up for the Easter bunny so I could help hide the eggs.

Oh yes, we go way back. this is me subbing in for my favorite bunny pal a few years ago…

Sunday I tagged along to visit “grammie’s house” and have a little Easter dinner – steak and chicken on the BBQ — I just ate the shrimp

Is it just me, or do they both look like they play a lot of “I’m a Little Teapot”?

I love grammie’s house.

It was a fabulously fun weekend hanging out with my favorite family. Now I am in disparate need of nap… it’s not a penguin, but it’s my favorite Easter shirt!

For St. Patty’s Day I hung out with a friend of mine in New York. We checked out the parade – I had such a great time!

That’s the Irish flag (just in case you’re unsure)

Bagpipes.. wow those boys can blow!

And the parade just kept coming and coming.
