Penguin and Jack Swigert, Jr.

October 26th, 2008

This is Jack Swigert, born in Colorado, a United States astronaut and one of 3 men that was aboard Apollo13 in 1970. Look how big he is, he’s got to be somewhere around 12 ft tall… they must grow ‘em big in Colorado!

I ran into this amazing man at the Denver airport… fancy meeting him there eah?

If you’d like to learn more, read up on Jack Swigert at the Johnson Space Center website

Penguins at Pacific Beach

October 22nd, 2008

This is me wishing for sun and surf. I took a quick walk just for this photo at Pacific beach in California. I was on my way home, so didn’t get a chance to stop and play in the sand… that just means I need to go back and visit again :D

Penguin and a new pal

October 21st, 2008

This is my newest pal, Karen Garcia. We originally met this past August at an event in Boston, she was also one of the pink ribbon supporters that helped sell buttons at our table. Then we walked together in September in the Seattle 3 day breast cancer walk. Most recently, and the location of this photo, we spent a weekend together for a special event hosted by Share a Sale, an online marketing network.

Karen owns GTO Management, an affiliate marketing management firm. She also runs a delicious foodie blog where you’ll find tons of yumminesses for your tumminesses. (I might even share a scruptious thought or two.. watch for it).

There really aren’t penguins at Boondocks

October 20th, 2008

Boondocks is a local family fun center that I visited recently. They have a ton of games and fun for just about every age (assuming you’re over 3 and at least 36″ tall). They have go karts, mini racers, bumper boats, video games, a batting cage, and my favorite.. miniture golf.

This particular Boondocks is located in Northglenn, Colorado.

Penguins and Pizza Pi

October 19th, 2008

I spent the day yesterday in the midst of the fabulous fun chaos of 13 year olds. One of my best friends turned 13 this weekend and his party with all his pals was yesterday. In addition to the fun frolicking, the video games and the scarfing of junk food, one of the party guests made this goofy pi, out of pizza crust. He was so excited about his creativity, I had to stop and take a photo with it.

The famous pizza pi of 2008.

Penguin at the Affiliate Dinner

October 14th, 2008

Finally, and event I’m not over dressed for. The Affiliate Dinner is an indistry specific evening.. enjoying yummy food and great company. There’s usually a roast of some big wig in the industry, which I’ve never understood the roasting part. usually people are so inspired and appreciative of the person they’re supposed to roast, its hard to do any roasting. But it’s all fun none the less.

It’s a great time, I’m always glad when I get a chance to sit and eat with friends. I might be at another one of their events in Las Vegas, January 2009. Maybe I’ll see you there. :D

Penguin loves the Boise Zoo

October 13th, 2008

I was able to spend a little time at the Boise zoo a while back. For such a small zoo, there were certainly tons of penguin friends, I had a great time!

There’s a fun little display of penguin cut-out style statues that kids like to run around.

Then there is a little exhibit with lots of penguins swimming around and hanging out and hiding in little caves.

I was able to sit and watch for a while… Yay for my Boise pals! If you get a chance to visit, its a quick trip but it sure is fun!

Bad penguin picture of Little America

October 12th, 2008

if you’ve ever been on a road trip across the midwest/rockies area (and maybe other places I haven’t noticed yet), you’ve probably seen signs for Little America. This is a bad picture of me with a teeny tiny Little America sign, because we think it’s so cool.

Not to mention that when there is a Little America location near by, you’ll see billboards for it for at least an hour before hand. Its a truck stop. A nice fancy fully loaded truck stop. Some have golf courses and motels, they have restaurants and showers and hang out spots. Most imporantly they have 50 cent ice creams. Yes, a real ice cream with a real cone but a whopping 50 cents. Its worth the 15 minutes stop every time!

Sadly, we didn;t stop at this one, I was just entertained by the enormous sign.. it’s not an amusement park for crying out loud! However, in the area, there wasn’t anything else most exciting either, so I suppose they have something worth bragging about.
