Penguin at the Brooklyn Seaport

July 6th, 2008

Here’s me, checking out the sea. Well not really. I’m hanging out with my New York friend at the Brooklyn Seaport. I love going anywhere that there is a chance I might get a whiff-o-fish throughout the day.

I think this was the same day that I visited the Liberty Bell. What a fun day I say!

Me and the Rockhopper Penguin

July 5th, 2008

Look very closely, this is me and a FAKE rockhopper penguin. I’m pretty sure, if I were standing this close to a real rockhopper penguin, he would either peck my head or dance on me. Thank goodness he’s just plaster and paint eah?

Look at me, I look like a tiny baby penguin - awwwwwwwww!

Penguin sees the Lebold Mansion

July 3rd, 2008

There’s a little town off the main highway in Kansas where you’ll find a fabulous old victorian-era mansion… the Lebold Mansion. It’s not enormous, but it is quite pretty against the quiet neighborhood backdrop - out in the midst of Abilene. If you’re driving by, take 15 minutes and stop by this beautiful old home.

Bonus photo - there is a rock at the front walk of this location with more info about the site…

Penguin meets the plush penguin baby

July 2nd, 2008

I’m a sucker for cute penguins… go figure. So when I saw this mama and baby pair just sitting around, I had to stop and say hello. Funny though, they really had no interest in talking back - no idea what’s up with that.

My penguin face is on the car

July 1st, 2008

Hooray for modern stickie technology! Today I had my face plastered on the back of the camera girl’s car and man o man do i look good!

Even if you don’t like penguins, (which is an insane thought anyhow) you have to at least be curious why my head on here… don’t you?

We had the sign made at FastSigns in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

I have to say, although I was originally frustrated at the lack of any obvious interest or timely communication, I am very happy with the end result.

AND the two people that put the sign up on the car, kudos to them for a great job!

So if you see us drive by, take a picture and send it to me at mypenguintravels (at) gmail.com - make sure to include where you took the photo. We’d love to hear from you!

Note: if we are picking our noses, stuffing our faces with french fries or having any kind of “disccusion” with the crazy kids in the car - please remember, other than me, they’re all only human.

Which Penguin is Cuter

July 1st, 2008

Yeah, I’m begging for compliments. But hey, can you blame me? There are penguins everywhere and I am only one (me and my clones, anyway). So I wonder, how cute and I really?

So what do you think???

This photo, by the way, was taken at a fabulous McDonald’s playland in Hays, Kansas. In the play area there was a big display of pass Happy Meal prizes. Apparently this Ty brand Penguin beanie baby was a prize - but I have no idea when that was.

I should really have a little voting booth here huh?
