Me and the Italian Penguin

July 19th, 2008

You didn’t know there was such a thing as an Italian penguin did you? Oh yes, and here’s proof…

I went with a couple of friends to Italy and we ran across this handsome bird, so of course I had to stop and pose for a photo. I’ll tell you more about my trip soon… spaghetti will never be the same again!

Penguin crosses into West Virginia

July 12th, 2008

This is me at the Welcome to West Virginia sign. I love it out here, the eastern united states is so lush and green and just plain beautiful.

I wasn’t able to stay in West Virginia, however. So, I didn’t get the opportunity to check out what is so wild.. I already know the wonderful (read above).

Penguins LOVE Steak and Shake

July 11th, 2008

Have you ever been, have you ever enjoyed a steak and a shake at the same time?

If you live anywhere near St. Louis, you probably have. It’s a fast food (actually called “causal dining”) change of restaurants with super yummy burgers and extraordinarily delicious shakes.

One thing I had to get used to was the size of the burgers. Where I come from, burgers are thick. Big and juicy and oh so scruptious thick. These burgers, however, are super thin.. but don’t let that fool you! Oh no, they are packed with flavor!

This is my next to my sourdought bread yumminess and my half chocolate half strawberry delightfully yummy shake!

Don’t forget the onion rings :D

Penguin goes to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens

July 10th, 2008

I love flowers - and I’m sure if i were a bee, the flowers would love me too. Right now, I don’t think they care one way or another, but that’s another story entirely.

Anyway, here’s me at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens -

I could sit here all day showing you photos of all the incredible foliage, but I won’t. I know you have things to do. So for now I’ll just share this small handful…

This is me in a tree - I don’t remember what kind of why I even thought a tree would interest you. I do however remember thinking.. wow a tree I can fit in, neat.. it’s just my size. And, if you were small like me, you would be entertained by that as well… so don’t make fun!

Yellow is a good color near me, dontcha think? In case you are unaware, this is a Daffodil. love ‘em!

Penguin in Rotterdam

July 9th, 2008

I have a couple friends traveling around Europe and I was able to tag along. Here’s me in front of a windmill in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Until now, I have never seen a windmill up close… they’re much bigger than I expected.

I have to say, “the camera girl” is quite jealous of my traveling without her… maybe some day she’ll hit the European scenery on her own. When she does, I’m sure I’ll be there.

Ya like my new scarf?

Penguins love to hike

July 8th, 2008

This is me with my good pal Shawn from Pristine Photography. I’ve been hanging out with him quite a bit over the past few months, so you’ll be seeing a lot more of me and his fabulous photography.

Here we are hiking in the hills of Kentucky - Oh how I love the trees!

Check it out, if you look reallllly close (or just actually look at the photo) you’ll see me on that t-shirt. Yep, that’s really me - surfing penguin t-shirt - who woulda thunk?

Penguin and the Little Blues

July 7th, 2008

I finally got to meet some little blue penguins. You think I’m cute and tiny? These guys are just down right adorable! yeah, I said it, they’re cute! I’m still smaller, but so.

Here’s a better view of the penguins, instead of me and my oh so photogenic self.

Penguin at the Brooklyn Seaport

July 6th, 2008

Here’s me, checking out the sea. Well not really. I’m hanging out with my New York friend at the Brooklyn Seaport. I love going anywhere that there is a chance I might get a whiff-o-fish throughout the day.

I think this was the same day that I visited the Liberty Bell. What a fun day I say!

Me and the Rockhopper Penguin

July 5th, 2008

Look very closely, this is me and a FAKE rockhopper penguin. I’m pretty sure, if I were standing this close to a real rockhopper penguin, he would either peck my head or dance on me. Thank goodness he’s just plaster and paint eah?

Look at me, I look like a tiny baby penguin - awwwwwwwww!

Penguin sees the Lebold Mansion

July 3rd, 2008

There’s a little town off the main highway in Kansas where you’ll find a fabulous old victorian-era mansion… the Lebold Mansion. It’s not enormous, but it is quite pretty against the quiet neighborhood backdrop - out in the midst of Abilene. If you’re driving by, take 15 minutes and stop by this beautiful old home.

Bonus photo - there is a rock at the front walk of this location with more info about the site…
